PHILIPPIANS: Boast in Jesus

Getting excited about our skills, our achievements or our possessions is a thing we all do, but is it good to? This episode challenges this norm and encourages you to boast in Jesus instead!

Bible Passage: Philippians 3:3-8

But we serve God by his Spirit, and we can boast in Christ Jesus. We don't brag about what we have done, although I could. Others may brag about themselves, but I have more reason to brag than anyone else. I was circumcised when I was eight days old, and I am from the nation of Israel and the tribe of Benjamin. I am a true Hebrew. As a Pharisee, I strictly obeyed the Law of Moses. And I was so eager I even made trouble for the church. I did everything the Law demands in order to please God.

But Christ has shown me that what I once thought was valuable is worthless. Nothing is as wonderful as knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have given up everything else and count it all as garbage.

Bible Passage: Ephesians 2:8-9

You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. This is God's gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own. It isn't something you have earned, so there is nothing you can brag about.
